Even the developers’ most optimistic predictions were exceeded by Baldur’s Gate 3’s successful debut this year. The game has quickly risen to the top of the Steam Charts, even breaking into the top ten list of most players playing at once.

As befits its roots in Dungeons & Dragons, the new release provides an enormous amount of player option. Even some genitalia-based jump scares on Twitch can be attributed to the extensive character designer.

The fact that players may only use the character creator once per playing appears to be the only issue they have with it. Larian is being pleaded with in a number of posts on the Baldur’s Gate 3 Subreddit to include a feature that allows players to change their character mid-campaign.

Respecifying a character’s abilities and characteristics is an option in Baldur’s Gate 3. For a game with this many customization options, it’s a little strange that there isn’t a way to change your character’s appearance in the middle of the game.
The startling lack of the functionality is the topic of numerous arguments on the game’s Subreddit. One user said, “Disappointing that you can’t change appearance,” adding, “The more I look at my custom person, the less I like them visually.”

On another thread, a player bemoaned the immersion problems his “stupid ugly f**k” of a half-orc was causing. “Shadowheart ain’t ever touching this stupid named, ugly ass half-orc’s penis,” they lamented.
However, Larian has a track record of listening to their player base, so supporters are optimistic that the feature will be implemented. One user said, “Larian are good listeners.” “They’ll hear this constant cry for sure.”
Larian brought the feature to Divinity: Original Sin 2, so it’s not out of the question that Baldur’s Gate 3 will receive it as well. Additionally, you may rely on the passionate community of modders for the game.
